What is LearningPoint?
Schools today need to equip students to make the most of a rapidly changing world of knowledge acquisition and technology. LearningPoint provides the platform to meet this challenge by integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the fabric of the school community to serve both educational and wider school needs.

LearningPoint is a total intranet solution developed to meet the needs of Australian K-12 schools. It enables schools to unify all of their teaching resources under a single, intuitive learning platform, saving students and their teachers from logging into multiple applications and enabling administrators to better utilise the investments already made.

As an onsite intranet (running on a server at the school), LearningPoint is designed to fully utilise the school's local area network and maximise the speed of accessibility to content.

Currently in use in some of Australia's most respected independent schools, it provides a mechanism to enhance and engage students in learning while assisting teachers to implement effective programs using online technology.

Teachers, students and even parents who use LearningPoint are impressed by just how easy it is to access school resources online from their school, home or anywhere.

The appearance and functionality of LearningPoint is fully customisable and may include school colours, graphics and unique titles applied to the many information portals to reflect the school's unique culture.

LearningPoint 5
The latest version of LearningPoint for independent schools launched in early January 2006. Major new features included, the integration of The Le@rning Federation digital resource library, and the inclusion of a WYSIWYG editor. The digital resources now include high quality multimedia curriculum content covering most key learning areas spanning across primary and secondary sectors. Staff and students are now able to create pages in LearningPoint using the WYSIWYG editor and staff are also able to use the editor with the various text areas within LearningPoint. Further improvements to the mark book, changes to the interfaces for administrators, and increased access to activity event information were just a few of the other inclusions. The annual Strategic User Forum and ongoing user feedback strongly influenced the direction of development for this release.
