Virtual Learning Environment - myclasses

myclasses is a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) that helps teachers turn the Internet into a platform for effective classroom teaching, rather then simply another source of information.

myclasses provides a content repository for storing and managing resources sourced from within an education network or from external databases. It also has the powerful feature of allowing teachers to share class material either within a school or within an education network. myclasses brings your classes and electronic content together.

As an addition to the existing suite of myinternet products, myclasses fully integrates with the Schoolsnet service.

Benefits of myclasses

Makes it easier to achieve learning outcomes by bringing classes and electronic content together in a fun and easy-to-use way.
Saves time for teachers who can quickly access learning objects and other resources, then provide them to students without having to print or use other programs.
Encourages collaboration and reduces the need to "reinvent the wheel" by allowing teachers to share and benefit from each other's work.
Saves download cost (for schools on a wide area network) by downloading resources to a central store.
No additional hardware or software cost at the school level. All that is needed to access myclasses is a computer connected to the Internet and a Web browser.
Low total cost of ownership through leveraging your familiarity with the existing Schoolsnet software interface, infrastructure and commercial relationship.

How myclasses brings classes and content together

myinternet works to three pillars of education software development:
1. Less work NOT more work for teachers.
2. Technology should assist, NOT replace teachers.
3. Do NOT do online that which is better done offline.

In keeping with these pillars, myinternet developed the myclasses VLE to assist teachers who want to bring the benefits of electronic resources to the classroom, but find themselves forever standing next to the school printer or photocopier. Put simply, myclasses brings classes and content together. Teachers need to FIND resources, ORGANISE them for their class, then DELIVER those resources in a meaningful way. myclasses helps in each of these functions.

Pricing

Pricing depends on the size of the school and is shown in the table below. Below are the prices for schools that already receive the Schoolsnet service.

Please note that myclasses is billed quarterly in advance along with your Schoolsnet Managed Service Fees.

It is important that your school considers training on myclasses for your staff, to ensure the investment in the software is utilised and that teachers make the most efficient and beneficial use of myclasses in supporting teaching and learning. The programs we have available are:
